2000 से ज्यादा एक्टिविस्टों और स्कॉलरों ने प्रोफेसर हैनी बाबू के पक्ष में बयान जारी किया

नई दिल्ली। 2000 से ज्यादा स्कॉलरों और एक्टिविस्टों ने दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के प्रोफेसर हैनी बाबू के पक्ष में हस्ताक्षरित बयान जारी कर अपना समर्थन जारी किया है जिन्हें एनआईए ने भीमा कोरेगांव मामले में 28 जुलाई को गिरफ्तार कर लिया था।

हस्ताक्षरकर्ताओं ने बयान में कहा है कि 10 सितंबर, 2019 को उनके घर पर डाले गए छापे के बाद से ही लगातार उनका उत्पीड़न किया जा रहा है। और अब जाकर उन्हें गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है। उन्होंने इस बात को चिन्हित किया है कि हैनी बाबू ने साफ-साफ कहा था कि भीमा-कोरेगांव की घटना से उनका कोई संबंध नहीं है। आपको बता दें कि भीमा कोरेगांव युद्ध की 200वीं वर्षगांठ के मौके पर 1 जनवरी, 2018 को आयोजित समारोह में हिंसा भड़क उठी थी।

बयान में कहा गया है कि “हालांकि हिंसा दक्षिणपंथी समूहों के हस्तक्षेप के बाद हुई थी लेकिन उस घटना को दलित स्कॉलर और दूसरे एक्टिविस्टों को गिरफ्तार करने के लिए बहाने के तौर पर इस्तेमाल किया गया।” बाबू की गिरफ्तारी के बाद अब तक इस मामले में 12 लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया जा चुका है।

हस्ताक्षरकर्ताओं ने कहा कि जाति विरोधी कार्यकर्ता की गिरफ्तारी के बहाने उन दलित बहुजन कार्यकर्ताओं को डराने की कोशिश की जा रही है जो जातीय व्यवस्था के खिलाफ लगातार आवाज उठाते रहते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि दलित और बहुजन छात्रों को बराबर का अवसर सुनिश्चित कराने के लिए डीयू के प्रोफेसर हैनी बाबू लगातार प्रयास करते रहे। इसके साथ ही उनका कहना है कि बाबू के लिए सामाजिक न्याय स्कॉलरशिप का मुख्य लक्ष्य था।

उन्होंने गिरफ्तारी को मौजूदा सरकार द्वारा अपनी मुखर जनता के जीवन की स्वतंत्रता और मतभेद को जड़ से समाप्त करने के प्रयास का हिस्सा बताया। इसके साथ ही उन्होंने वैश्विक महामारी के दौर में भारत के महत्वपूर्ण बुद्धिजीवियों और एक्टिविस्टों की गिरफ्तारी पर भी चिंता जाहिर की।

उन्होंने कहा कि “हम जाति विरोधी स्कॉलरों और एक्टिविस्टों के राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय समुदाय के लोग लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों और मानवाधिकारों को सुरक्षित रखने के हित में भारत सकार से डॉ. हैनी बाबू की रिहाई की गुजारिश करते हैं।”
